In Ryan Wallace's Redactor series, Wallace brings his materials to the surface, revealing the artist's hand in layers of discarded tape, mylar and scraps of painted and printed materials. Inspired by trends in 21st century science and technology, Wallace translates complex scales, charts and data into vast abstract compositions that are simultaneously sublime and gritty. Wallace's innovative multi-media practice pushes the boundaries of his materials in densely formal works that are defined by their processes.
