A humorous, freewheeling and candid account of The Beatles arrival in America

in February 1964. The Maysles follow the Fab Four for five days, from the crazed

JFK airport reception to unguarded moments inside the Plaza Hotel in preparation

for their landmark Ed Sullivan Show appearance to their equally frenzied homecoming.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Ladies and Gentlemen…The Beatles!

The LPA is proud to offer free admission to programs on a first come, first served basis.

Admission lines form one hour prior to each program. At that time one ticket is provided

per person. Tickets are not available for advance reservation and saving seats is not

Inspired by the Sex Pistols, Poly Styrene decided to form her own punk band, X-Ray Spex. Later I return when it’s dawn or twilight and look again at the way these chosen “locations” appear in the shifting light. I might return to a location three or four times to see what I find…always bringing my camera and tripod and any other items such as velvet to minimize reflections if I’m photographing into a window and a small flashlight or headlamp to use if I want to paint some light. Tap To READ: "Playing for a live audience was the only way music would have happened for me. My training is as an actor, as a kid I was a dancer. I always sang but could never read music, and musical instruments came a little harder to me. What I'm saying is that the live performance is something I know how to do and that might make up for my lack of musicianship sometimes. There are a lot of better guitar players in the world, but a lot of them choose to only play on their couch. If they're not going to take the gig I will because I know how to leave my blood on the floor for an audience, I can tell the stories."
